One of the most exclusive trips we have ever arranged giving you incredible opportunity to be up close and personal with some of the rarest creatures on the planet as well as enjoying the culture and vibrancy that Graham delivers with his undoubted love of West Africa. Guides who have between them over 40 years of experience in this area helping film makers like BBC, National geographic, Disney to obtain the best footage and film.

Safari days on the Gambia River filming the incredible Chimpanzees, Hippopotamus, Red Colobus Monkeys, Nile Crocodiles and many species of birds and reptiles over 7 days

After a night of luxury in Banjul we head five hours up river by A/C Vehicle to this incredibly remote part of the Gambia and our basic but clean and safe lodge right on the banks of the river where sometimes Hippopotamus will cruise by in the mornings. This will be our base before we return to Banjul for two more nights of luxury before our journey home.

This is a fully guided trip by award winning Wildlife  Nikon Photographer Graham Tweed and will be the trip of a life time with full guidance given on every safari tracking and searching some of the most dangerous and beautiful animals on the planet.

Please note these spaces fill fast and are limited to 6 persons.

Tour

Arrive Banjul take a short transfer journey to Senegambia where we check into our 4* Hotel.

We will spend the first evening here to relax before leaving after breakfast for the five hour journey up river by A/C vehicle to this incredible untouched part of the world.

Day 2-5 deep into the Gambia River we will work with the tides heading out for around 4 hours daily around low tide to hope to catch the Hippos on the sandbank but also to photograph the chimpanzees and other wildlife along the banks of the river which is also home to over 600 different birds, many with amazing colours.

The Hippos, Nile crocodiles and Chimpanzees are more active at low tide and easier to spot along this incredibly quiet and tranquil part of the West Coast where most of the time we will be the only people on the river.

Breakfast here consists simply of coffee, tea, fruit, local breads and eggs.

Dinner in the evenings are local dishes such as Yassa and Benechin. Whilst the lodge is basic it is an incredibly beautiful village and our down time can be spent visiting the standing stones, walking in the jungle locally or visiting the nearby towns. Rooms are air conditionedand have a fan and a bathroom and whilst basic lodges its an incredible experience to live with the local community.

Day 5 we will head back to Banjul for some relaxation, more photography, swimming pools and visit two of the best restaurants in the Gambia in the evening.

These guided trips thru all parts of this small but diverse country are with local guides and drivers along with Graham Tweed who has many years of experience in the wild with these animals and is a very accomplished photographer working with Nikon, Nat Geo and the BBC and offers a lifetime of experience having spent over 32 years in this region working on many projects, the first time in 1992.

It truly is a trip of a lifetime you only need to experience once and would never forget.
